CG medevac two mariners in La.

NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard medically evacuated two mariners from a vessel taking on water near Lake Pontchartrain, north of New Orleans on April 1. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report from a Good Samaritan at 11:47 a.m., reporting a half-submerged 20-foot recreational vessel with two people aboard waving their arms. The CG launched a CG Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew and a CG Station New Orleans response boat crew. The helicopter crew hoisted one mariner suffering from hyperthermia and transported him to University Medical Center New Orleans LCMC Health in stable condition. The boat crew transported the other mariner to CGS New Orleans where emergency medical services took him for further medical care.
