Green Beret killed in Afghanistan

The Defense Department announced Dec. 23 the death of an Army Green Beret who was supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel in Afghanistan. Sgt. 1st Class Michael J. Goble, 33, of Washington Township, N.J., died Dec. 23 as a result of injuries sustained while his unit was engaged in combat Goble was assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. (Source: DoD 12/23/19) The 7th SFG(A) became one of the U.S. military's most committed speciaoperations on Dec. 22 in Kunduz Province.
