Free public drone seminar at GTRA


STARKVILLE, Miss. - Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drones) have become popular gift, with more hobbyists and businesses using the technology to benefit the bottom line - like the Golden Triangle, where new drone technologies are researched and implemented daily. In an effort to provide details to the public, the Golden Triangle Regional Airport (GTRA) in Columbus, Miss., will host its third annual Drone Seminar on Jan. 15 with a focus on home, safety and business uses. The free seminar will be at 6 p.m. in the airport terminal, and will feature experts from Mississippi State University and Columbus Air Force Base to discuss changes in rules for drone operations from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in addition to safe practices and how to effectively use drones for business.
