MSU’s first A-A dean of engineering

The former chair of the department of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Syracuse (NY) University, Achille Messac, has been named dean of Mississippi State University’s College of Engineering. He is the first African-American to ever hold that post at MSU. Dr. Messac holds three degrees – including a PhD - from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston.
