Virtual 'VE Day' commemoration

The Department of Defense will broadcast a virtual 'Victory in Europe Day' commemoration at 9:30 a.m. (CDT) on May 8. The program will broadcast on Defense.gov, Facebook, and Twitter. It will also broadcast on the Smithsonian Channel at 7 p.m. The program will include remarks by Secretary of Defense Dr. Mark T. Esper, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Miley, ABC’s Robin Roberts, NBC’s Tom Brokaw, and Comedian Jay Leno. This will continue the department's contribution to the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of WWII. (Source: DoD 05/07/20)
