MDA #9 in econ development

The Mississippi Development Authority, the state’s lead economic and community development agency, ranked No. 9 among the Top 10 State Economic Development Organizations in the U.S. based on research from the American Economic Development Institute. Louisiana ranked sixth and Alabama No. 8. MDA works to recruit, retain and expand Mississippi’s businesses. The annual study is designed to analyze and identify the most effective state economic development organizations. “Economic development in Mississippi is a team sport,” said MDA Executive Director Brent Christensen. ”It would not be possible without the great business relationships we have with our economic development partners at the regional and local levels throughout Mississippi.” AEDI is a non-partisan public policy and economics research institution with the mission to improve the American economy by fostering economic growth and prosperity through employment creation and international trade.
